What Is Microneedling?

 
Microneedling is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation treatment that can give the skin a smoother, tighter, and more youthful appearance. The treatment involves using a handheld device that contains a cluster of very fine needles. The device is passed over the surface of the skin where the needles create thousands of microchannels in the surface of the skin that stimulates your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. This process increases the production of essential structural proteins like collagen and elastin that tighten the skin and give it strength and elasticity. In as few as three minimally invasive treatments spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance and step out with confidence.

What to Expect After Your Microneedling

 
There is little to no downtime needed following microneedling treatments. The skin will have a red or pinkish color to it that looks like a mild sunburn, but this issue should subside within a day or two. Patients should be able to resume their normal activities right away. You will need to avoid putting on makeup for 24 hours.
 

How Many Treatment Will I Need

 
Microneedling can provide noticeable results after just a single treatment, but in many cases, patients will need multiple treatments in order to attain their desired results. On average, patients will need around two to three microneedling treatments depending on their goals. Follow-up treatments will need to be scheduled around four weeks apart to allow the skin to properly heal between treatments.
